Islamic Imperialism
Reader comment on item: More Special Privileges for Muslims

Submitted by Dr Nicholas Beecroft (United Kingdom), Aug 3, 2006 at 11:17

If you listen carefully, the Muslim Fundamentalists are basically fascist, racist imperialists and Islam/Political-correctness is their trojan horse. Bizzare then that the liberal-left elite appease them. (just like they appease the Soviet tyranny). The Islamic Fundamentalists have done a great job of presenting themselves as victims. They massively exaggerate the contribution Islam has made to Western Culture and Science. They totally idealise the glory days of the Caliphate at the last peak of Islamic imperialism. They speak about Spain and South East Europe (conquered by Muslims but regained by Europeans) as if they still owned them and had a right to take them back. They idealise some fake nostalgic past in which Christians and Jews lived happily under Islamic rule, when in fact they were Dhimmis- slaves, humiliated, denigrated and brutalised.

How do you think that Islam spread from Mecca and Medina? By conquest, conversion, trade, imperialism, ethnic cleansing, terrorism, economics and leadership. Just like any other Empire. The Middle East prior to that was Christian, Jewish and Polytheist. Iran was Zoroastrian. How do you think Islam took over North Africa? By marauding tribes subjugating the Berbers into submission. i.e in modern parlance- invastion, colonisation, ethnic cleansing and apartheid- just like they are still doing in Darfur and about to start in Nigeria and Ethiopia. Do you really want that future for Europe? If so, just carry on appeasing Islamic Fundamentalism as at present.

Europeans should treat other peoples, cultures and religions with respect. We should, and also we need to for our own future security. But that is totally different to appeasing the plans of Islamic Fundamentalists to degrade and colonise of our continent. Our fear of their violence, our massively exaggerated shame for imperialism and our dependence upon oil is leaving us into submission. The elite just don't want to see it. It's too difficult to admit because it is not orthodox in PC-anti-world and because the implications are grave. As always, we would be much better off if we forced the elite to live in Saudi Arabia or the North West Frontier for a while. Just long enough for a reality check.
