I do not think the penchant for violence is a strictly European vice, nor the belief in werewolves, vampires, etc. which seems to be quite widespread in the world. Afterall, the Near East still believes in the djinn! Violence seems to be inherent in the human condition . Having majored in history and read extensively, war and violence is by no means a European Invention. Europe is now in dire peril because it has abandoned its roots and embraced the ludricrous notion of multicultaralism. Europe would be much better off embracing its heritage and making certain that all who lived in France are Frenchmen and all who live in Germany are Germans etc.
On the balance Western Civilization has done more for the world than any other and continues to be on the cutting edge of scientific research and more importantly ethics. Unlike some in the world, the West no longer practices slavery, and has allowed women an equal role in the shaping of society and has establihed working democracies where people are allowed to worship as they see fit. This is sadly not the case in much of the world where men resort to violence and killing to push their own idea of religion on others and thereby become the greatest evil this world has ever witnessed.. The West longer practices the very worst sin imaginable, doing evil in the name of God, which unfortunately seems quite prevelent amongst certain 'religious groups.'
In the current struggle between Islamists and the world, the West must win lest we find the entire world dragged into another very dark age.
