The western world and our wacky views of life

We in the western world have some strange ideals when it comes to human life:

We think it is ok for someone to write a book and not worry about getting a price put on our heads (Rushdie)
We think it is ok for someone to write a screenplay and not worry about getting a price put on our heads (Ali)
We think it is ok for someone to make a movie and not worry about getting murdered because of it (van Gogh)
We think it is ok for someone to draw cartoons, no mattter the context, and not worry about getting a price put on our heads (12 Danish cartoonists)
We think it is ok for a woman to marry a man she loves and not worry about getting murdered by her father, brothers and uncles (honor killings)
We think it is ok to change your religion and not worry about being beheaded for it (Sharia law)
We think that to reach heaven (those who are Christian), you should live a good life and accept the Lord into your heart, not blow yourself up and kill as many innocent people as possible (suicide bombers)

And knowing the things we DO NOT kill humans for and the things that are punishable by death in Islamic countries, it's a small wonder that the entire world has not welcomed Islam with open arms (sarcasm)
