One possible answer for the difference in conversion rates ...Reader comment on item: Conversions in Israel Submitted by Sean (United States), Jul 21, 2006 at 17:00 ... is that it is much easier to become a Muslim than a Jew, as the story notes: "In contrast to Jewish conversions, which last months and often years, to become Muslim one must only convince the [Islamic] court that one's intentions are sincere and declare faith in Allah."
