I think what you have to say is usually 100% correct, but there's no-one listening. Israelis are notorious for thinking they have all the answers and can do it better than anyone else, and certainly the government of Israel, any government of Israel, is not going to give a second thought to your remarks except to say, "these Americans are a pain in the ass." Of course, they love the money the Americans provide them with, so they smile and make nice, but actually all your words go in one ear and out the other. It's a losing battle I'm afraid. If I thought they'd learn from their mistakes I'd feel a tiny bit better, but unfortunately they don't. They go on making the same mistakes over and over and over. I've lived here 23 years and I'm in despair about the whole situation.
