The fence is goodReader comment on item: Thoughts on the Israeli Incursion into Gaza Submitted by Henrik R Clausen (Denmark), Jun 29, 2006 at 03:50 While is it true that the fence is not the complete solution to the Israeli-Palestinian problem, it certainly is worthwhile, as it makes terrorism against Israel much harder to conduct. The number of suicide bombings in Israel has fallen sharply - Good Thing. Also good is that Israel shows its practical commitment to a final division of the areas it conqurored in the 6 days war. It gives most of the area back, unconditionally. While Yasser Arafat had an offer on his hand of more than 90% of the West Bank & Gaza, he was unwilling to pay the price for that: Permanent peace with Israel. With the fence in place, Israel is a much better security situation. The current incursion is a display of strength in face of a Palestinian provocation and should make Hamas think twice before letting its fringe groups keep attacking Israel.
