The argument for religious equality is actually valid but you have to include some common sense. The two Jewish holidays require observant Jews to attend services and not work on those days. The "Eid" holidays are feasts which typically are celebrated at sundown, after people would be done with work/school and are not "days of rest". In other words, going to school in no way interferes with the Muslim celebration of their festival but it does interfere with Jews celebrating theirs.
