pre - islamic culture was boycoted

i read a culture dictionary -culture longman. in this book ,i saw a description for ayatollah rafsanjani.but i didnt see about cyrus great. english books usually boycott pre -islamic history of iran. even they consider iranian sceintists and poets and so on as arabian guys.
