Reader comment on item: Islamic Law at Belmont U

Submitted by Kevin M (United States), Apr 24, 2006 at 06:38

For some reason I can hear a small group of so-called "useful idiots" patting themselves on the back and announcing that "we will have peace in our time," presumably because their present actions drip with sickly sweet tolerance and sensitivity.

Tackiness? That's like firing someone over having bad breath! The more I consider the situation, the more I am convinced that every major newspaper and news magazine in the English-speaking (indeed, non-muslim) world should wallpaper their pages with those cartoons. Rather than a spike in violence, the message would be loud and clear: "We're not Muslim, We don't live under your rules...Learn to deal with it!" Just as with animals, our enemies can smell fear in the wind, and that emboldens them.

Instead, actions like this prove irrefutably that the West can be made to bend to Islamic rule. And that makes a mockery of the Pledge, the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.
