"[I]t shows the burgeoning confidence of Islamists, who no longer think they must work within the system."
A parallel between this rally and the recent demonstrations of illegal immigrants (just to mention two recent examples) seems to suggest that the list of groups that no longer think they must work within the system is quite large…
Yet another blatant example of how the ideology of "multiculturalism", in which cultural and religious differences eventually become politicized and integration is nothing but a bad word, leads to a profound social chasm. One thing is to have maniac theocrats in the Middle East shouting "Death to America! Death to the Infidels!" But this sort of behaviour continues to sprout more and more often in many Western cities, a result, among other things, of the lack of self-respect that afflicts the Western Civilization. Having fallen prey to a culture of victimization, and having accepted the blame for much of the exploitation of the third-world, many Western institutions lost – or are losing – their bearings, their strength, and their voice. While to some all is allowed, others have tied their hands with forced politeness and resignation; and that is the attitude that will eventually kill the West. And we should NOT let that happen.
