The Saudi ConnectionReader comment on item: Government for Sale [to the Saudis] Submitted by Mark Tyler (United States), Dec 3, 2002 at 07:52 The Bush administration's deaf ear to Saudi (and even Muslim) participation in terrorism seriously undercuts the prosecution of the war on terror because they refuse to acknowledge its roots. It has the effect of making them either appear ignorant of what is going on, or bought and paid for by Saudi interests. It is as though after Pearl Harbor, President Roosevelt were to insist that the responsible party may or may not be of Japanese descent, but he remains confident that Japan is our friend. How can the Bush administration attempt on a daily basis to link Iraq to Al Qaeda and terrorism without evidence, while denying apparent evidence of Saudi involvement and still maintain any credibility? Bought and paid for indeed. Mark Tyler Bartlett, TN Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
