Reader comment on item: Symposium: Turkey: The Road to Sharia?
in response to reader comment: France and Turkey

As an afterthought, for anyone who isn't satisfied with Levy, you can google "distinguished middle east historian " and you will find the name Professor Bernard Lewis all over your screen, where you can research all the acclaim he has earned in his 60 year career.

Unfortunately, when he tried to give Europe the benefit of his research he was convicted by a French court in his absence under their holocaust denial laws. Such is the will to keep this issue political rather than actually care about the history of it, that we wind up with this ridiculous situation where a staunchly self stated zionist Jew is convicted of such a crime.

"As for the Hitler quote, its authenticity has been well-documented by Dr. Kevork Bardakjian of the University of Michigan in the book Hitler and the Armenian Genocide."

That 'sourcing' was look at by Michael Chapman, director of Cato, a conservative american research centre:

:"That particular quote could not be found in any record of the speech he gave in preparation of Germany's invasion of Poland, where the alleged Armenian reference was targeted against the Poles, and not the Jews. Scholars have studied the authenticity of this quote, and it is most likely the Fuehrer never uttered these words."
