Political Correctness and the PC Threat To Academic Freedom

Reader comment on item: Bad News from Slippery Rock

Submitted by Mark Anderson (Canada), Apr 11, 2006 at 15:53

Anyone who thinks Political Correctness died an unlamented death in the late 1990s should read Dr. Pipes' excellent article (and the original comments by Dr. Alan Levy) on the threat Political Correctness still poses to academic freedom and the freedom of speech, thought and expression on US university campuses.

Those of us who believe in these basic freedoms must remain ever vigilant against the purveyors of PC. Let's hope voices like Dr. Alan Levy's keep speaking out against those who still seek to impose their intolerant PC regime upon all of us.
