Nuclear South Korea became a lot less beligerent once war was declared (remember their sabre rattling while the UN procrastinated over Iraq?) If you think Iraq, which was always regarded as a comparatively secular Arab country, has been troublesome imagine how extreme the reaction would be if we attacked the most holy place in Islamic ideology. There would be Jihadis EVERYWHERE! Not a good idea unless one goes ALL the way and public support is far too fickle to take that chance!
