Pipes talk at Commonwealth Club

I agree with everything you are saying but I believe that it would be helpful to stress that all the dictators, monarchs and mullahs in the Moslem world understand that their greatest enemy is democracy. This is why they hate the two Satans so passionately.

They know that if democracy takes hold in their countries they will lose their political power as well as their heads. Incumbents don't do very well in revolutionary times. If Israel did not exist they would have to create it in order to justify their hold on power.
