A Success?Reader comment on item: Pipes calls war a success Submitted by fred binkle (United States), Apr 2, 2006 at 10:38 Dear Mr. Pipes,The Iraq War a success because it's removed a Arab tyrant? This sentiment is unworthy of what are otherwise impressive analytical abilities. The goal itself, which you praise, can not be separated from its methods, which you deride, in hindsight. It is not simply the destruction of a regime, but the seeding and growing of stable new government, that is imperative. We can not tear down without building up again, and pretend to be responsible leaders of the world community. You are very much mistaken to believe the contrary.
