Peacemakers?

Reader comment on item: Christian Peacemaker Teams: Blame Bush, not Islamists
in response to reader comment: A little logic goes a long way.

It has just been confirmed that the 54 year old father of two has been executed and his body recovered. I agree that it is ironic that the murderers call themselves the Sword of Rightousness. How pretentious. No more pretentious however that the "Peacemakers".

Secularists scornfully point to the violence of devout believers, be they Christian or Muslim. There is no denying that rivers of blood have been spilled in the name of one God or another. From what I can gather the Christian Peace Teams are more subversive Western Christian than Christian. The so called "Rightous swords" more closely adhere to their faith than the Peacekeepers.

It may be un-Christian of me, but I view the so called Peacekeepers as misguided fools. I prayed for their release, and now I will pray for the release of the remaining hostages. If they are released I hope that they will ponder the fact that their Muslim captors find them to be incomprehensible. I think they are a political organization, and as such are mistakenly using the Christian appelation expecting favorable treatment because of it.

My question is, what kind of Christian is unable to recognize pure evil when confronted with it? Did it ever occur to them that they are furthering the efforts of those who are totally committed to the death of every non-Muslim in the world? I view the Christian Peacemakers as delusional, grandiose and dangerous.
