American foreign policy in denial (and irrelevant?)

It seems that President Bush's "clarity of vision" that preceded 9-11 has reverted back to the blurry eyed, Colin Powell induced, policy of hypocrisy, denial, and backpedaling.

The USA still refuses to take concrete action against the Saudi Arabian government for their complicity in funding, harboring, and exporting their extremist Whabbist version of Islam.

The USA correctly assassinates, and defends their use of armed drones against Al-Quada terrorists, yet sees fit to criticize Israeli's use of the same pinpoint method of pre-emptive defense as "not helpful" (even though their targets are in their own backyard).

The USA pretends that the EU is still a reliable ally, even though their obstructionist actions in the UN Security Council are identical to what one would expect from Iraq if they had a seat. To the contrary, the EU is fully backing the Arab world in almost every endeavor, using a diplomacy of duplicity vis-à-vis the USA, who is more than willing to accept this ploy for face value rather than recognize the obvious.

The recent EU organized, Colin Powell encouraged, summit meeting in Cairo this week between the leaders of the Palestinian terrorist groups Hamas, and Fatah, is nothing more than a military strategy session in light of the War on Iraq, and the Israeli elections. The EU is presiding over discussions as to whom the terrorists should target for murder; Israeli civilians over the green line, or just any Israeli they are lucky enough to kill? The EU's attempts at distinguishing between "good" and "bad" terrorism is a disgusting policy, but not any more disgusting than the billions of dollars that they have given to Arafat under the pretense of humanitarian aid, knowing full well it is finding it's way to terrorist entities. The EU's Chris Patton, when confronted with this allegation by those in the EU parliament who want an investigation, said he would rather have a "hole in his head" than investigate the charges.

Until President Bush's administration can speak as one, on message, without giving conflicting versions of policy, or using an obvious hypocritical double standard when judging others faced with the same threat, our adversaries will continue to exploit this weakness, and render us virtually impotent, and maybe irrelevant.
