What we want people to understand is that these catoons were published in a Danish Newspaper since Sept. last year, & no condemnation came from any Western leaders despite the fact that our Muslim brothers in Denmark reported the case to the appropriate authority. The prime minister of Denmark went to the extent of not allowing the Muslims to see him over the matter & later said it is a part of the freedom of speech/expression.
And we the Muslims really respect the freedom of speech, but with fairness & justice.

Let us recall for instance what happen two decades ago, when the American Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan referred in an interview to Judaism as a "gutter religion." Ferocious condemnations from Western leaders and media commentators followed instantaneously, with most not only asking him to apologize and retract his slur but demanding also that other African-American leaders publicly disassociate themselves from Mr. Farrakhan.

And we believed that the lack of condemnation from the Western leaders lead to its re-publications in some other Western countries.

Prophet Muhammad to the Muslims is an ideal, perfect & infallable model, touching him is touching the Ummah ( the muslim community). Anybody doing Jihad today might be rigth or wrong, bcos we don't know what is in his mind. Therefore comparing his actions to that of Muhammad's is very wrong.
