Islamic terror cells in the U.S.
Reader comment on item: Interview with Daniel Pipes

Submitted by Jim Stanley (United States), Nov 2, 2002 at 15:09

In another interview on Fox News, another expert was expressing the conviction that Mr. Muhammad could not be an al-Qaida operative because an al-Qaida sniper offensive would have taken place in twenty cities simultaniously. In my opinion this would defeat the purpose of cells, requiring too much interaction and coordination between cells.

I agree with you, we need to learn to at least look at the possibility of such a connection in cases of violence that has the earmarks of a Middle-Eastern origin. Also, it does not have to be an al-Qaida connection. We don't know yet who al-Qaeda's real parent is or how many children that parent has.

Thanks,
