Poverty Is Not the EnemyReader comment on item: [The Hamas Victory and] Prospects for Peace Submitted by Jane O (United States), Jan 30, 2006 at 16:23 Steven,Poverty is not the problem. It is the end result of mismanaging and governing every aspect of life in countries that don't have capitalism and free markets. Even those of us who are poor in America take for granted higher standards of living and freedoms, which many citizens in Islamist countries never attain. Do you suggest we reform and become like them, so that we can no longer help all the nations we now help?
