There were five of you making remarks in this article in Time, leading off with Dennis Ross, and his usual mealy mouthed blather about more givebacks, and Israel finally drawing a line when there is barely an Israel remaining.
The arab double talk of the others, if one looked between the lines, basically seemed to say that wait until we get our ducks in a row before dealing with our basic goal, the complete destruction of Israel.
And you, dear Daniel, are wise enough to realize that the ballot box has by now joined the junk heap of what we used to call democracy. That the arabs voted for the Hamas is an astonishing opportunity we've seen to it that has managed to lean back and kick us in our faces. From you article, it sounds like we will be dealing with a well informed, well run, organized effort at our destruction. And the arabs will follow them everywhere and anywhere after a short space of time in which the madrassas are more organized and better teach of annhilation of Jews, when some monies are spent on improving the small matters of daily life, and where these monies will come from remains a LARGE QUESTION, since they are supposedly in debt.
In essence, we can look to a far more dangerous enemy, as Hamas converts the somewhat secular arabs who live in the area are converted to Islamists, armed with the religious zealous madness of the the company they will now keep. I shudder to think of the outcome.
Ballot boxes! Democracies! Thanks to the ability of westerners to be arrogant and foolish enough to hand the people of the area another tool which they can now cry is actually legitimate, lending strength to the coming elections in Egypt, Syria, and so forth, allowing one and all a trump card the likes of which they've never had before.
Talk about stepping on one's own feet...
