Nature of Islam
Reader comment on item: Additional Thoughts on "Winning the Propaganda War"

Submitted by Garry Lockwood (Australia), Jan 22, 2006 at 22:45

The longer I observe world events the more I become convinced that we need to analyse Islam as a power structure as much as, and maybe more than, a religion. The way forward and upward within Islam appears to be by manipulating the people to hate other cultures and religions. Is Islam truly a religion? I remember a friend saying he had remarked to a missionary that Islam had a universalism to it, that one of its strengths was that they were all on the same page. The missionary replied that we would see a different story if the religious leaders took their boot off the neck of the populace. So I think in our attempts to understand the persistent aggression of Islam towards other cultures, we need to start viewing it as a power structure that people exploit for their own personal fulfillment and advancement.

Cheers, Garry.
