Islam does not have the capacity for progressiveness since it inherently advocates the islamization of the entire world with second class citizen status for non-muslims as outlined by Sharia law. Freedom of thought and belief are inconsistent with Islamic scripture and belief. CAIR and it's support for HAMAS is about as progressive as the KKK. Yes, i know that HAMAS does many good things in Palestinian communities but the KKK probably throws a pot-luck from time to time. That doesn't make it ok to support them.To be fair, i would probably say the same thing about Christianity.
