So much for "Fact".Reader comment on item: Symposium: Turkey: The Road to Sharia? Submitted by Levent (Turkey), Jan 17, 2006 at 07:28 For all non-related parties, I am glad you have the opportunity to see the nonsense we have to put up with from our neighbours. The basis of the thread is this: "Fact: Turkey is a Muslim nation. Radical Islam will sooner or later gain power. That implies that Turkey should not be allowed to join the European Union." Insofar as this is entirely ridiculous, the thread has no basis. Nonsense does not suddenly gain credibility because you proceed it with "Fact:" - all that this achieves is that the author loses credibility. Why not tell us the dynamics of how and why this will happen, rather than just saying it will happen and prefacing it with "Fact:" and demonstrate to us the slightest bit of understanding of a situation in which you claim to know the facts? The answer to this is rather obvious to - somebody who would make such a ludicrous statement has no understanding of the facts.
