Arik Melekh IsraelReader comment on item: [After Sharon:] Israeli Politics Will Revert to Its Past Submitted by Ariel (United Kingdom), Jan 9, 2006 at 17:50 The passing of this giant from Israeli politics should be mourned by everyone who cares about the Jewish state.Ariel Sharon is a hero, the greatest warrior leader this nation has seen since Bar Kochva. The strategic maneuvers of battles he led following the arab onslaught on Israel in 1967 and 1973 are being studied in many fine military academies around the world. He knew the terrain better than all the analysts and journalists in the media and reached the logical conclusion that Israel needs to set its own borders, inlcuding Jerusalem and the large settlement blocks but not including Gaza. His legacy will not be forgotten. It is a fact that the majority of Israelis belong to the realistic centre. I hope Kadima under Ehud Olmert can continue in Arik's path and finalise Israel's borders.
