not trueReader comment on item: [After Sharon:] Israeli Politics Will Revert to Its Past Submitted by y brandstetter MD (Israel), Jan 9, 2006 at 13:06 It is not true that there are no alternative parties in Israel.1.Sharon ceded from Likud because most of Likkud opposed the ideas of further disenegagements, or territorial concessions. 2. There are legitimate political parties further right on the spectrum of the Complete Holy Land which are vying for the voter's attention. So how is it no one hears about them? Not because they are fringe but due to the fringe leftist elements holding fast to positions of power in mass-communications, law, academia. They delegitimize any view which is not theirs, having shut down most of the outlets which do not toe the line. It is Bolshevik tactic at its best, and Sharon, growing tired of fighting them, has decided to join them. Maybe after a small stroke. Look to the internet for a real view of Israeli society. There the mass communications and publishing giants are no more than another URL Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
