Flawed logic

Just because X was himself rich, does NOT mean that he might have had no concern for the economic conditions of his community AT LARGE.

The thesis that X does it for getting rich could be false - but not that X might be doing it to address the economic issue. These are two separate arguments.

I'm NOT supporting or justifying their extremism or wrong actions - just pointing to the flaw in your own logic.
