Mr. Sharon's demise
Reader comment on item: [After Sharon:] Israeli Politics Will Revert to Its Past

Submitted by H. E. Lafferty (United States), Jan 8, 2006 at 12:55

Dear Daniel:

As many of your readers, I stand on what I can glean from Scripture ... as to how these events should be evaluated. I believe that Yahweh does not wish His Land to be given to others (I should not have to quote references for a fellow Jew!) in these Endtimes. Ariel Sharon had turned about 180 degrees from his campaign promises NOT to give an inch of Israeli land to the 'Palestinians' (we both know there is no such people!).

I sincerely believe that God merely allowed Sharon to get something done that would favor what He intends to do sometime soon (?) - and that is absolutely destroy the filthy, murderous inhabitants of Gaza in fulfillment of Isaiah 11:14, which is surely an Endtime event: "And they (Israel) shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines ('Palestinians') toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together; they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab (Jordan) and the children of Ammon (Jordan) shall obey them." This, as you will recognize, is not an isolated reference to the current scene as we view it. There are at least thirty five specific references to the destruction to the Proximal Islamic States of Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States scattered throughout the prophets of Tanakh; many of these specifically are harbingers of the appearance of Messiah to Israel, as much of the population expects.

I am not the only Watchman who feels this way: I paste here comments from a fellow Bible student in Australia:
-------------------------
It is my opinion that Israel will be led to allow the Pals to strengthen in Gaza and cause terrible trouble until Israel can stand (it) no more. THEN...EXIT GAZA AND THE HOUSE OF ESAU. I think that all this will cause thousands of Pals to enter Jordan; and then Jordan will be next as the Pals therein make a nuisance of themselves
On Iran.....there is evidence that USA soon may, with Israel's connivance and help, attack the Iranian nuclear program. I think Iran will not have the power (in the future finality) that the nuclear weapon would allow them and they will willingly join the 'outer ring 'of Israel's enemies which attack the Land only to be destroyed by God's power ...see Ezekiel 38 18-23. END
-------------------------------------------

We realize that you probably don't think in these terms, Daniel, but no man may contravene God's word on any matter. We stand on it. Mr. Sharon seems to have been allowed to remove the citizens of Israel (not 'Settlers' as the media refer to them) from Gaza for their protection when the destruction of Gaza occurs. I, for one, believe God will never allow a 'Palestinian' state with the borders of His Land - certainly not a permanent one. Mr. Sharon was headed in that direction. Many believe ole Pat Robertson to be a Redneck for his recent comments about Sharon's illness being a stroke from God in heaven, but I should say that is a pretty good assessment of it - not to be pejorative toward Mr. Sharon, whose early career was nothing short of phenomenal in his devotion to Israel's survival and progress.
