Time for Washington to Get Serious About Illegal Immigration
Reader comment on item: [Hedayet and] Border Agencies in Denial

Submitted by Nancy Long (United States), Oct 16, 2002 at 23:21

The INS (and President Bush) would soon get serious about our immigration laws if all the Washington media started asking questions about immigration only AND the three main TV channels focused on the question as well. Alas, too many liberals worry about the rights of foreigners before they worry about what is happening to America.

Foreigners do NOT have a RIGHT to enter this country. They come as our guests. We decide who we want to let into our national home. Like our personal homes, we should invite guests who fit in with our culture, language, etc. and who want to assimilate. Those who come only for visits should be screened for their past history of committing crimes, etc. as we know many do not go home when their visas expire.
