Ariel Sharon - Leader, Bulldozer, Peace Maker - Dr. Pipes?Reader comment on item: [After Sharon:] Israeli Politics Will Revert to Its Past Submitted by Heather Clark (Canada), Jan 6, 2006 at 01:21 Dear Dr. Pipes:I know we don't dance to the same tune when it comes to Mr. Sharon. I was pissed off when he made the decision to pull out of Gaza, the West Bank. I viewed his tactics as appeasement, an act that was all but spat upon by the Palestinians. Sharon's actions signified complacency, handing over fought for land. As time goes by, I am reminded no matter how much I read, I'm not politically astute, much less pretend to know anything. Today is the "Epiphany". There is nothing new under the sun. War is not won by battle, but by erosion, ennui. Ariel Sharon fought for peace in the Middle East, but not peace at any price. Dr. Pipes?
