Right on, Dr. P!Submitted by Wm C Clayton, Ph D (United States), Oct 16, 2002 at 07:31 Right on, Dr. P:You are so right that the professors either don't know or obfuscate the nature of our enemy. It is not some abstract "terrorism," but rather a war against extreme Islam fundamentalism. And Bush made a severe mistake in adopting the expression "war on terrorism." He should have, from the beginning, identified it as a war against Muslim extremists so that we would properly identify our enemy. The academic left has no problem identifying KKK members as extreme right wing CHRISTIANS. They are either deluded or (as I believe) purposely obfuscatory because, essentially, they hate Bush, Republicans, and America in that order. My English students are doing research papers on this matter, and I have given them the topic of protecting ourselves against extreme Muslim fundamentalism, just as it really is, not abstract terrorism (see Lawrence Wright's wonderful article in a recent The New Yorker). This is only the latest example of poltical correctness run amuck. Keep up the fine work, please!
