Reader comment on item: Assessing Kadima

Turning over the Gaza Strip to Hamas? This is why Mazen is a criminal for not following the Road Map. I'm serious, Dr. Pipes. That is why disarming ALL of the terrorists was required and supported somewhat by US and EU money.

Now, according to Israeli National News, the Gaza strip is a no-go zone for an Fatah/Mazen members. Arafat's close nephew was murdered by Hamas and/or Hamas types that have been taking over government buildings.

I ask you Dr. Pipes and your readers: isn't it terrible policy to be supporting Abu Mazen. It was disclosed recently (this week?) that the PA is offically paying suicide bomber's families. Couldn't this man be discarded from the process due to beligerence in the face of US and some EU suggestion that Hamas, Islamic Jihad, al-Aqsa's brigades, etc. all potray a devastating image to the world (of Israeli losses!)

So, in closing, enough of the feting Ariel Sharon for his "painful decisions." Painful as in the sense his whole party vetoed his plan initially to save Israel this pain without anything resembling either a partner in peace or someone controlling their government. He didn't get dragged from his home and place or worship. He's turned over Jewish ancesteral lands to barbarians armed to the teeth with a relentless desire for Jihad--myopically fed and facillitated by Euro/Blair/State Dept/CIA and other helpful organization. With access to both a land and seaport, within a year daily cargo will arive that will make Yasser Arafat's personal Iranian supplied Karina A with tons of weapons on board seem like a row boat.

Did the wear orange people of really expect their friends, colleagues, and sons and husbands to be have Kassam rockets rained down on them on duty?

Please, George Bush, stop your State Department's pushing Israel to lift restrictions to travel on its borders and jeopardizing the entire existence of Israel by negotiating with terrorists and allowing them to govern the PA coalition.

Thank you and Happy Holidays to all.
