Shouldn't Dr. Pipes correct his original comments?

Reader comment on item: Is Omar Alghabra of Canada's Liberal Party an Islamist?

Submitted by Sheram Shauh (Canada), Dec 23, 2005 at 13:54

Now that the issue has been clarified by the CCD acknowledging the error, should not Dr. Pipes also correct the original article on his site? It seems it was the Markham councillor Osman who uttered the words.

Dr. Pipes posted the correction as a follow up update; but many readers do not spend time to read the whole thread. The result is that an individual has been accused of a wrongdoing that he did not commit.

In my humble opinion instead of posting updates on the page, it might be more appropriate if Dr. Pipes edits the original posting to name Osman as the Islamist, and perhaps criticize the Liberal nominee for not countering his propaganda.

As more information becomes available, I am returning to the original assessment. In particular, see the Dec. 27, 2005 update.
