Omar Khadr

Omar Kahdr should have been treated as a child in need of protection and perhaps rehabilitation and not a soldier, or criminal. He was a minor, only 15 years old when grabbed my the US in Afghanistan. He could be viewed as a victim of his parents ideological jihadist ideas. Of course, a few years earlier the US supported the rebels in Afghanistan against the Russians. At that time his involvement would have been noble.

He should have been treated like the child soldiers in Africa who were have been salvaged and treated to become children once again, after taking part in unspeakable crimes of murdewr and mutilation.

Omar should be sent home. he is one of Canada's children. We need to take care of our own. At 15 he could have been taken into custody as a child in need of protection. he would have received care and treatment.

For him to be held and tortured by the US is to the shame of that country which one was a light to the World with it high ideal. That the US has become a rogue state itself while claiming to be concerned about Rogue States is sad beyond belief for those of us who once admired the Great Republic.
