Daniel Pipes does not call for shutting down debate. What he calls for is that student organizations, and universities should stop using the funds they have obtained from unconsenting students and unsuspecting donors to subsidize the likes of Ms. Ashrawi.

Refusing to pay for someone else's speech is not an end to free speech. I am being oppressed because I am being forced to support political speech with which I disagree whenever I pay taxes.

We are not talking about a change in laws, but a change in academic culture.
