Abbas as Man of Good Intentions

... Certainly the west bank arabs can interpret Israel's pullout in no other way than the payoff for their terrorism. However painting Abbas, even slightly, as some sort of good will figure is just plain wrong. Abbas is Arafat in a suit. His public statements in Gaza are all one direction--Israel out. The fact that the US ignores this is both inexcusable and reprehensible.
