Reader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men
in response to reader comment: Lina, after re-reading this...

I love how we're slowly starting to figure these "men" out. The more religious education that we get the better. It would definitely open our eyes up to the hows and whys.

These gigolos abuse the religion as well, whether or not I personally agree with the verses. But what I will say, is if any women with a strong sense of identity are reading this... think very carefully before getting involved with a mena man. It's a culture of submission, and although you may be given rights, they can be taken away at any moment.

Even sleep isn't your own anymore, you have the morning prayers and in some parts of the Middle East you'll be up straight after preparing breakfast for your habibi.

These men will schmooze the hell out of you, quoting the most tender verses of the book. And he's so handsome you'll lap it up. To convert and marry means you are a slave of god, and a slave to your husband, in that order. But unfortunately, a lot of men will twist things to their advantage and get you to put them first.

And remember even the more secular Muslims can switch up at any moment, especially as they get older and less rebellious.

Submitting....
