Reader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men
in response to reader comment: HELP! Engaged to a Moroccan

Didi, yes, his entire family, at least the members I met, were very nice to me. I brought and bought gifts for his mother, sister, younger cousins and female friend who helped us get married. When I had problems with him yet again (about three months ago), and messaged his sister about it, she encouraged me to end the relationship because she knew his personality and that he would probably never change. I have since blocked her, my husband, and one of his friends on Facebook because I don't know who I can trust, and I would rather just end everything with everyone rather than continue to have to hear about or deal with the situation.

My "husband" is in South Korea with quite the social and sexual life, since he never honored our marriage (it was only a means to try to get to the U.S., of which he was unsuccessful), and his sister and friend are in Morocco. His female friend, who is no longer his friend after this all happened, is in France with her husband and infant daughter. I still have some contact with her, and she feels badly that this happened to me. No, he did not try to get me pregnant, he knew I could no longer have children, but he claimed to not want children anyway (HA HA, another lie, I am sure).

I have an email address I set up with his last name (back when I thought he would be in the U.S. with me). It is rachaq8978@gmail.com. I don't receive any other email there. You are welcome to contact me with whatever questions you may have. Yes, I was very much in love with him (in some ways, I still am) and tolerated a lot of insensitive and verbally abusive behavior because it was so confusing to me. He definitely emotionally manipulated me. I so much wanted to believe he loved me, but after two years of his behavior I finally realized the truth of things and that it was never going to get any better. It never does. I will wait to hear from you.
