Although I agree with Pipes, the concept of treason is still valid and should be pursued by the government against citizens who aid the enemy... Loyalty to one's country is more fundamental than even one's family, as demonstrated during the Civil War (an unthinkable situation, driven by an egomaniacal president, who is venerated, but should have been hanged). The problem is gutless, self serving politicians who are themselves ignoring their oath of office, to uphold the constitution, and a population who have no knowledge of their constitution, ability to think rationally, and, indeed, don't want to think or even be educated...
