NOT meeting HIS MOTHER is a the BIGGEST RED FLAG

Reader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men
in response to reader comment: planning on marrying this man

Hello there. Welcome to The Forum. About the culture that he lives... If mama ain't happy... Nobody is. The Arab that I went over to marry... Did not have a living mother. However he did have three sisters which he had to keep happy. Their happiness was more important than mine.

I do not believe that he does not have any friends. Most males in that culture stick pretty close together since they are mostly separated from the female population. So that does not really cut it with me.

About your clothes... Same thing happened to me and it was cute at first even the jealousy. But then it became so controlling that I almost lost my identity. Because in that culture the man has to have control of his woman. It is for his honor. And it will totally get on your nerves later on.

Lastly... I would advise you since I have gone over there and experienced a lot of disappointment heartache and danger that you would try to find a man in the USA. Save yourself from this while you can. My immigration attorney kept warning me that they are different. I was in denial and cognitive dissonance for a long time and then I realized what he was talking about. Plus in time I saw that he did not see love as we see love and he would have been controlling and also a danger to my American friends and family and also my country. These are some serious things you have to think about.

I know that American man are not like they used to be and it seems that the Middle Eastern men are like American men should be but really it's all talk and no action. They can really emotionally abuse you and you won't even know it just to get you to do what they want you to do. I wish I could tell you that it would work out but I just can't. But since you came here for advice I wish to help you and tell you that I don't believe it's a good idea especially because of his mom because Mom is everything in that culture and you will never sit above his family. Realize too that he might already have a wife over there and that may be another reason why he didn't introduce you to anyone because he may be afraid that secret would get out to you and you are a commodity to him for a better life money or a visa to support a family he may already have. It's just too much of a chance to take really. I wish you the best and I hope this helps.
