AT WAR WITH AN ENEMY MORE THAN WILLING TO DIEReader comment on item: [The Canadian Islamic Congress:] An Islamist Apology Submitted by John Gelles (United States), Jul 19, 2005 at 14:13 In the end our enemy hopes to die to win a place in paradise. From that place, with seventy virgins all his own, he will see Islam triumph over all weaker faiths. This enemy ready to die works with others who may momentarily stay alive to carry on the struggle to recruit and arm the bravest and dumbest---to die as soon as possible. This ideology of death is not as strange as it sounds. To make war against it compels its enemies to be as brave. We are its enemies. And we cannot be braver than Muslim jihadists. If we are to win the war they started, we will have to be smarter. If Joseph Stalin and his successors had been Muslim jihadists they would have destroyed the world with the tens of thousands of nuclear bombs they had. If we continue on the path we are on, one day our side will destroy every Muslim alive---as the only way to save the earth from premature death. But it is more than likely that something less jihadist-like can save us and ordinary Muslims from this fate. That less drastic war will be joint action by Muslims and non-Muslims to end the jihad while there's still time. The recent London bombings may be the beginning of the end. America, its allies, Russia, the rest of Europe, China and India have got to recruit every non-jihadist Muslim to this war. All these nations are at war with an enemy more than willing to die. They shall have to unite to save mankind and themselves. After they have saved mankind, these nations may adopt Franklin Roosevelt's 1944 Bill of Economic Rights. If they do not, the end of jihad will not be enough to bring an end to avoidable misery and war---the goal Roosevelt had in mind in 1944. .
