Interesting article BUT....Reader comment on item: Weak Brits, Tough French Submitted by Lexx (Mexico), Jul 13, 2005 at 16:27 Hello Mr. PipesI would like to congratulate you on all the outstanding work you have put into your articles over the years, which have contributed greatly to my knowledge of the Middle East over the last 5 or so odd years. I was also fortunate enough to see you at a conference in Montreal, Canada several years ago which really was a highlight for me. ... It may fade a bit from memory for some of your readers, but the Tel Aviv bombing of Mike's Place, a popular bar close to the American Embassy, was perpetrated by two British nationals on April 30 2003, that killed 3 innocent people, wounded over 40 other patrons and completely destroyed the pub. It may just have been an error on the part of the translator, but something tells me it isn't a coincidence. I would hate to think that the French would not lend your article complete credibility because Israel should not be counted among the nations that has suffered from terrorism. More than any other country, I might add as well. Thanks again for your all your great reads and for contributing to make people aware of the world we are living in.
