Australia's Importance in the South Pacific

In observing the exchange about Australia's place in the South Pacific, from this position, there is little about the 'land down under' that would lead to the mistake of saying it is like any other place in the world. Just like this reader did decades ago, ask a New Zealander how different they are from being Australian. The English born presence in that region made/makes for a circumstance is so completely unique; that in the context of trying to make an Asian connection, it really cannot be done. Even sharing a namesake from here in the states is about all that connection can do and not much else.
But as the world is being swept into the frenzy of globalists' posturing for a global climactic exchange of power shifting, like political shape shifting, one cannot but wonder how the South Pacific region will be reconfigured in order to survive the cataclysm portending in the Russian takeover over in the Syrian/Iraqi/Mesopotamian desert? Is it expected that Australia might be overtly affected?

By merely being associated with America, Australia's importance in the region cannot be minimized.
All one has to do is remember the battle of Coral Sea to understand that even though the separation from San Diego to Sydney is miles upon miles of Pacific Ocean, our common interests supersede any issues an enemy might present to divide that connection.

Therein lays the substance of how unique Australia really is, that as long as there is the bond of friendship in a true relationship, it will not matter whether the toilet bowls swirl in opposite directions, we should remain strong in the reality of truth; of the reality that we can protect each other from the other side of the world if the right leadership presents a common front against an enemy that would see us destroyed.
