Trump Rides A One-Trick Pony

After 9/11, the best response from the White House should have been to suspend Islamic immigration, at least temporarily. That would have been far more humane and practical than flying off and trying use force to not only punish the bad guys, although that was fine, but to remake countries with deep-seated problems that we do not fully understand. Events have proven, and are still proving, just how intractable that task is. Perhaps, on a subliminal level, there is a collective unconscious that grasps that point.

The fact that someone as obnoxious and usually clueless as Trump has gotten as far as he has, is a symptom of justifiable fears that people have about immigration. If the elites continue to ignore people's concerns, we will see ever more demagoguery.
