Dr. Pipes got it Right

Reader comment on item: The Next London Bombing

Submitted by Arlinda DeAngelis (United States), Jul 11, 2005 at 20:51

Earlier this year I attended an event at NYU in which Dr. Pipes outlined the global situation on the war on terror. I remember he said England may be with America in Iraq but their homeland laws are so liberal, their homeland security so lax, their immigration policy so wide open that known terrorist recruiters scream openly in the streets of London calling for the deaths of America and the annihilation of Israel.

He also said these terrorists are never arrested in England.

Dr. Pipes in a rare act of emotion almost through up his hands in frustration.

Unfortunately events proved him right.

I can only believe that Great Britain thought its liberal domestic policy would protect them from the Islamofascists commiting acts of terror on British soil. What nations do not understand is that lax security in the homeland is a feeding ground for these killers. To allow them the right to incite to kill is precisely that for which these Islamists are looking. Liberal wide open societies are the perfect breeding grounds for terrorists to recruit and carry out their depraved acts.

Welcome to "we are all Americans."
