Why ultra-conservatives feel marginalized

Reader comment on item: Conservative Professors, an Endangered Species

If you honestly support G.W. Bush's foreign policy without question, if you swallow anything the Bush administration shoves in your face as a justification for the Iraq war, if you believe the media when they bark at you that "the media has a liberal bias," if, in short, you lack the most basic critical thinking skills, don't be surprised if you feel out of place on a college campus.

Why don't people at universities agree with ultra-conservatives? BECAUSE UNIVERSITIES ARE WHERE SMART PEOPLE GO. I'm amazed that some people aren't the slightest bit embarassed when they keep complaining that all smart people disagree with them. If you're a conservative who whines about liberals on campus, think about it for a couple of hours. Ann Coulter agrees with you, Sean Hannity agrees with you. But smart people don't agree with you. Why might that be? Hmmmm... Take a couple of hours. One can only hope you'll figure it out. But I'm not optimistic.
