re: Married with Moroccan manReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by anon (United States), Jun 19, 2016 at 07:15 While I have no doubt the proposal was made out of love, what concerns me is the village life. You need to visit and experience the village before confirming marriage. Perhaps visit for a week and see how you feel. It is expected of Moroccan men and husbands to provide for their families and wives after marriage. Even if you do work, any money you earn is yours and yours alone. You are not expected to contribute but can if you want. I am learning darija right now so that I can better communicate with my fiance's family and friends, but I am also teaching him English. In my opinion, it should go both ways. Have you spoken with his family or seen them on camera before? That is usually a good sign if you have. Moroccan relationships move very quickly. Be cautious but sometimes, trust your heart. I recommend visiting him once before you commit to marriage though.
