Relationship with an Egyptian Man

Reader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men

Submitted by Francesca (United Kingdom), May 22, 2016 at 04:50

I have been dating an Egyptian Man for 8 months. We speak on the phone every day sometimes 3 times a day. I visit him in Egypt every 3 months. We talked about everything our hopes and dreams together. Having a life and business together in Egypt and in England. I already have business in England so I would run the business in England he would run the business in Egypt.

We were together in Egypt in March and I gave him a significant amount of money for our planned business together in Egypt. When I returned home to England he went to Alexandria to see his family. He always told me his family would like him to marry an Egyptian woman from his home town but he said he doesn't like Egyptian woman. I am his love, I am the only good thing in his life and he wants to marry me.

He was with his family in Alexandria for 7 weeks but after a couple of weeks he cut all contact with me. He didn't answer my calls or my text messages. I was very worried wondering what has happened to him or if I had done something to upset him. He finally returned to Hurghada after 4 weeks of not hearing from him. He sent me a text the day he arrived back into Hurghada as if nothing had happened. I tried to explain how sad this had made me feel but he lacked empathy towards me because I shared my sadness and hurt due to his lack of contact.

His friends later warned me he had returned to Hurghada with a photo of his Egyptian fiancee. His mother had found him a beautiful Egyptian girl during his stay with them. He used our business money to buy gold, a watch for himself and two engagement rings one for him one for her. He posted lots of I Love you images on facebook book but has not told me he is engaged. I only know this because his friends have told me and I can't betray them by telling him they have told me.

He is lying to me and I wounder if all this time he has been lying to me about our future just to get money for his family and his Egyptian girl. I am devastated and try every day to get him to talk about his gold watch and gold ring that he is wearing in his photo on facebook. He just tells me he bought this for himself with our business's money.

When I ask him about his facebook comments where people have congratulates him on his recent engagement, he just tells me he does not have an Egyptian woman. I am his only women. In the evenings when I try to call him his phone is always engaged. His friends also tell me he speaks with his Egyptian women all day. I also ask him why his telephone is always busy and he tells me it is his friends.

I am totally devastated, heart broken and betrayed by him. I can't believe he has done this too me after being kind to him and helping him. Please be careful of Egyptian men, ladies. They have honey-talk and all the charm but there is often an hidden agenda. I thought my hot Egyptian man was kind, gentle, caring, affectionate and beautiful to me. I got it so wrong.
