"Israel: Palestinian ax attacker killed by soldiers"

Reader comment on item: Israel, America and Arab Delusions

Dear Daniel Pipes,

You've written this peace in 1991. Now is 2016 - 25 years later.
It would be good I think for you to observe how things have changed.
History is sometimes like Climate Change - small daily local change obscure the larger global century changes.

The United States has never been that great lover of Jews and Israel.
The reality is that Israelis live in the midst of the Islamist Arab Middle East and have drifted to the Right while Jews in the United States assimilate in the Melting Pot and are slowly vanishing as Jews.
A Jew walking down a an American neighborhood does not need to worry about a Palestinian wielding an Ax ready to hack him to death!

Which brings down to Bernie Sanders and his appointment of Simone Zimmerman, the young American Jewess as representing to "humane" Left view of Jews regarding the "unfortunate" plight of the Palestinians.
She is a granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor.

Imagine a Barber doing surgery instead of a Medical Doctor.
One would never do that today, though it was the practice in the Middle Ages in Europe.
But Bernie would never imagine of picking you, Daniel Pipes, as his advisor on policy on the Middle East.

Back to the point - which involves this article. Israel would do better these days to seek alliances with India and China which do not suffer from the unconscious prevailing Anti-Semitism of the West; Christians, who will never forgive Jews for refusing to accept Jesus as the Messiah will not easily accept the justice of Israeli treatment of Palestinians no matter how many Israelis are slaughtered;
the Holocaust ended in 1945 and in 1948 the United States, under former General Marshall and President Truman
with great difficulty accepted Israel as a State for the Jews.

...

Today the irony is that Saudi Arabia, with its other Sunni allies is more likely of standing by Israel and it Jewish majority than the Jews such as Senator Bernie Sanders and his Bleeding Heart Simone Zimmerman.
Jewish Jesus is the most famous Jew who allowed himself to be killed.
Thereafter, 6,000,000 Jews did so in WWII.
Simone Zimmerman represents the ignorant other post-Holocaust Jews who have forgotten the principle of Never Again and from the comfort of the United States presume to know and dictate to the Sovereign Democratic State of Israel under Bibi what is good for them.

In my opinion, every non-Israeli Jew should support the Israeli ruling establishment, or in the alternative, move to Israel and join an opposition party.
Noam Chomsky and Norman G. Finkelstein, and now Simone Zimmerman, represent the self-hating, or the "better" Jew (no reason to hate them).

"Did Bernie Sanders Commit 'Blood Libel' Against Israel?
That's what some of the country's defenders are saying. But his claim that Israel used indiscriminate force in Gaza is accurate."

Until pro-Israel Hasbara does a better job, anti-Israel Jewish voices will be more vocal and more effective than they should be.

On that score, I recommend the 2012 book by Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon, "Israel: The Will to Prevail"
